An Affiliate program is a special form of cooperation between a merchant (i.e. provider) and affiliates. It can be a marketing program where affiliates place an advertiser's banner ads or links to the provider' site on their web sites. When a customer clicks the affiliate link and performs the desired action, such as becomes the provider's customer, the affiliate earns a commission (referral fee) from the provider for each purchase made by this client.

An Affiliate is any web site, web master or Internet user who advertises the provider's products and services and earns a revenue according to the terms of service of the Affiliate program or agreement.
