Customer management (Corporate)

A Customer is an account registered in BILLmanager, who can use the billing panel for ordering, paying and managing products and services. There two types of customer accounts in the billing panel:

  • Individuals are created for individual customers; their accounts contain personal information, contacts and the billing settings.
  • Companies are created for companies, and their accounts hold specific contact information as well as all other data that an individual user account contains.
  • Sole proprietors - are created for self-employed customers, sole owners of their business.

In the billing panel a customer can create Users and Payers, order the services he needs, add funds to his personal account, pay due invoices. The provider can use a wide range of features to manage his Customer accounts.

In the Customer management module you can add new accounts, edit the existing customers' parameters, monitor their payments, expenses, finance documents, send notifications, and switch to the control panel with privileges of any customer.

View a list of customers

  • ID - customer unique identifier.
  • Name - name that the customer has specified when registering in the billing system. (A customer's user name is show in brackets).
  • Properties - characteristics of this customer account:
Image:p-love1.png - bad customer.
Image:p-love2.png - good customer.
Image:p-resell.png - this customer is referred by the customer whose ID is shown here.

Register a new customer

To register a new customer, click the "New" icon and fill out the following form:

  • Project - select a project that a customer will be registered in. (only in BILLmanager Corporate)
  • User name - enter a username to log in to the system.
  • Access password - enter a password to log into the system. The password can be randomly generated by the system. To get one, click a special button next to the field.
  • Confirm password - retype the password for confirmation. If it was randomly generated, confirmation is set automatically.
  • E-mail - enter an e-mail address for notifications.
  • Country - select a country.
  • Account type - select a customer status - Individual, Company or Sole proprietor.
  • Contact person - enter the name of the contact person.

Edit account

To edit a customer account, locate the account you wish to edit, click the "Edit" icon and modify the settings you want to change.

Module «Customers»
  • Name - enter the customer's name.
  • Registration date - provide the date when this account was registered in the billing system.
  • Registration IP - IP-address the account was registered from.
  • Verified phone number - enter a verified phone number. For more information, please read the Fraud protection module.
  • How did you learn about us - here you can see from where this client learnt about your comaony (for example, from his friends, search engines, forums, exhibitions, etc.).
  • Note - field for additional information.
  • Your attitude to the client - select a status that can be assigned to the customer. It will describes your personal attitude to him, thus you may guess whether this customer is easy-to-do, or you may have problems when providing services to him.
  • Referring customer - provide the ID of the customer who has refereed this client.
  • Affiliate program - provide the name of the affiliate program in which the customer is participating.

Delete a customer

To delete a customer, select him from the list and click the "Delete" icon. Confirm that you wish to delete the customer by clicking OK on the following form.

Filter by customer

You can use this function to set filter by customer. Click the "Filter" icon. Then the filter will be set throughout the billing.

Once the filter is set, the list will be filtered by customer. You can clear the filter that you have previously set by clicking "Remove filter" button.

Filter the customer list

You can use the list filter to search the information about customer by specific parameters. To initiate searching, click the "Filter" icon and fill out the form. You do not need to fill out all the fields. The search can be carried out by the ID, account name, project, group member, registration date and active items.

Once the filter is set, the list will be filtered by customer. You can clear the filter that you have previously set by clicking "Remove filter" button.

Send message

You can send messages to your customers through the billing system. You can send them to a single customer or to all your customers. Click the "Message" icon and fill out the form.

  • Category - select a category associated with your message. For more information, please read the Categories module.
  • Forbid clients to answer in tickets - select the check box to forbid your clients to post into news letters. With this check box selected, the "Automatically assign new tickets to me" wont't display.
  • Automatically move ticket to me - check the box to assign tickets to a particular administrator.
  • Send only to customers of the corresponding language - select the check box to send your message to the customers who provided a certain language in the general settings.
  • Abuse - select the check box if this is an abuse ticket. After that the "Parameters" tab will be displayed. The "Abuse" filed is displayed if you activated "Abuse" in the Features module. Note: this filed is available only if you select a specific user from the list.
  • Subject - enter the message theme.
  • Text - type the text of your message. You may use a pre-defined template for the message that you can create in the Message template module. Follow the "Auto complete" link to select the text you wish to use in your message.

The following macros can be used in the message:

    • %client_person% - will be changed into a customer's first name.
    • %admin_name% - will be changed into an administrator's name.
  • Show additional fields - click the link to view the hidden fields.
  • Attach files - provide a file you want to attach to the news or select one you need by clicking the "Search" button. You can then attach this file to an email notification.

The "Parameters" tab

Module «Customers»
  • Deadline - the client must resolve the issue described in the abuse ticket util this date.
  • Action - if the client fails to resolve the issue, select the action that should be taken:
    • Suspend client's services - all of the client's services will be suspended.
    • Remove into the Active tickets module
  • Penalty points - enter penalty points.
  • Notes - provide any information related to this abuse ticket.

Switch to Customer panel

Sometimes You may need to access the control panel with user access privileges. Select him from the list and click the "Enter" icon.

Once logged in, You may view and manage the control panel as the selected customer.

To return to your login level, click the link next to the welcome line.
