Getting started (VDSmanager)

This document below describes the control pane's interface. The control panel elements may be arranged in different ways depending on the theme you choose for your control panel . The main elements of the interface are marked with figures on the pictures and with figures in round brackets within the text, such as (7). In order to access the control panel, you must enter you authorization data:

Module «Getting started;

In this form you need to enter a valid Username and Password to gain access to the control panel. You can choose the interface Language that will be used in the menu, fields' headings, hints, help and other messages. You can choose a theme for the control panel interface. Later you can change the selected password, language and theme in the User settings module. The data required for work with the panel is kept in the browser cookie within one hour after the last request, therefore, if you access the control panel from another computer, we recommend that you reset these data by clicking the (1) icon.

Module «Getting started;

You can log in to the control panel using access privileges of any other user. Thus, entering with root permissions, the welcome message (2) will inform you about your access level. Clicking the corresponding link will return you to the previous level.

The control panel has a built-in help system. If something is not clear for you, move the mouse cursor over the selected icon or field to see the hint (3). To get brief information about any of the modules of the control panel move your mouse cursor over the icon(4).

Using the navigation menu you can easily access any module you need. The functions are grouped by sections (5) available on a certain level. You can select the section, if the list of modules is too large.

All modules can be divided into two categories:

  • list of elements
  • form

The list of elements is a table where each line corresponds to a separate element. You can sort out the lines in the table by one of its columns clicking on the column name (6).

The toolbar is displayed at the top of the table (7). The toolbar is a list of actions that can be performed. Select one or several lines in the table and click the icon on the toolbar corresponding to the action you wish to perform. In order to select a group of lines, press the "Ctrl" and "Shift" buttons.

There is an additional panel (8) that contains statistic information about the table elements (that may vary in different modules). If no line is selected, the statistic information is provided for all the lines.

The control panel has a special function ((9)) that allows you to divide tables into pages. You can provide the number of lines per one page using the module User settings.

Module «Getting started;

The other type of the control panel's modules is the form:

  • text field,
  • text area,
  • password field,
  • drop-down menu,
  • check box.

If the text field is used to enter several values, the icon (10) is displayed. Clicking this icon will extend the text field enabling to enter values line by line.

Some of the text fields have an additional control element (11). The element allows the value that corresponds to the lack of quota.

There is an icon that you may click to get a randomly generated password ((15)).

There are two buttons within the form:

  • OK - save changes
  • Cancel - close the form without saving.

You can close the form by clicking (12) in the form heading.

There is a form that consists of several tabs. Such tabs (13) are displayed at the top of the form.
