Depending on the POP3 server installed on your system, mailboxes can either be virtual or belong to system users. Virtual mailboxes allow you to create mailboxes with the same names in different email domains, such as john@example.com and john@exmple.two.org. In case of system users, you cannot do it directly.

Dovecot

Dovecot is a POP3 and IMAP server. Make sure the line below is specified in the control panel's configuration file:

POP3 dovecot

In this case mailboxes are considered virtual and are located in the /usr/local/etc/dovecot.passwd file. When you receive email, you need to enter a full address, such as admin@example.com, in the email client.

syspop3

They include all mail servers that use system users as mail accounts.

Make sure this line is specified in the control panel's configuration file:

POP3 syspop3

To receive your mail you will have to authorize by entering a system user name such as example in the mail client.
