Control panel policy specifies conditions for managing the actions the control panel performs. For example, a policy might allow users to install Perl modules or PHP extensions. Control panel policy can be used for everything from automatically stopping users exceeding the traffic to specifying prefixes in MySQL databases users names. Normally, you assign everyone to the same control panel policy.

Click "Policy" on the navigation bar and check the boxes in the form. The following form lists options available in the control panel policy.

Module «Policy»
  • Disable overselling - disable overselling that allows resellers to allocate users more resources than they are allowed to use by the server administrator.
  • Check limits reduce - select the check box to prevent users from reducing the limits if the resource usage exceeds the specified limit.
  • Stop users exceeding the traffic limit - suspend users and their WWW domains, if they have exceeded their traffic limit.
  • WWW domains aliases in the list - display the aliases on the list of WWW domains. Using this function you can quickly search for the required WWW domains.
  • Prefix in the names of FTP accounts - FTP accounts will have the prefix admin_, where admin is the name of an account owner. This will forbid different control panel users to create FTP accounts with the same names.
  • Prefix in the databases name - all the database users' names will have the prefix admin_, where admin is the name of a MySQL database owner. This will prevent control panel users from creating databases with the same names.
  • Prefix in MySQL databases users names - the name of the database owner will be added to every new user.
  • Include databases into quota - disk space overage may trouble functioning of the MySQL server, if the database size is specified in its quota. If you selected this check box, the database size cannot exceed the user's disk space limit.
  • decrease database size quota - decrease disk space quota allocated to a user by the size of his databases.
  • Change variants in presets - select the check box, if you want all the changes in users presets to be automatically applied to all the associated users. But, if you increase the preset's parameter manually for a user and this value does not correspond to one in the preset, this parameter won't change.
  • Do not check domain owners - do not check the owner of a higher-level domain while creating a new domain. If this option is active, DNS records for all the users will be made in one domain zone.
  • Allow administrators to mix domains - allow an administrator to mix subdomains that belong to his users.
  • Allow resellers to mix domains - allow a reseller to mix subdomains of his users.
  • Allow users to install PHP extensions - select the check box to allow your users to install PHP extensions on the server. PHP will be available for all WWW domains of such users, and all the other users can enable them for their WWW domains, if necessary.
  • Allow users to install Perl modules - select the check box to allow your users to install Perl modules on the server.
  • Allow users to install Python modules - select the check box to to allow your users to install Python modules on the server.
  • Allow shared IP for all users - select the check box to allow resellers and users to use shared IP-addresses, if they have assigned IP-addresses.
  • Allow users to create FTP accounts with private home directory - select the check box if you want to allow your users to create FTP accounts with home directory like /home/user-name/users/FTP-account/. We recommend using this function for security reasons.
