There are two kinds of files on the virtual private server: Template files are all the programs and pre-defined files not included into a VPS disk quota.

Private files are all the files that were added to a virtual server after its creation. They include all the server directories and template files, which content or attributes were altered.

This module enables to separate the template files from the private ones.

View and change private file content

Sometimes you may need to change content of your files, but you cannot do it directly from your server. For example, once you have made some changes in the Firewall, you cannot access your server. This module enables to remove specific rules from the /etc/firewall.conf file. Once you have rebooted the server, you can access it again.

In order to view or edit a file or folder, select it from the list, click the "Edit" icon and fill out the form:

Calculate directory content total size

Sometimes you may need to calculate the disk space consumed by the private files on your server. For example, if your server disk quota is exceeded you can calculate the disk space by checking the directory content (total size of all its files). Since this process may take a long time, it is impossible to calculate this size on the list of private files of a virtual private server.

To calculate the total size of an existing directory, choose one from the list and click the "Size" icon. The list of subdirectories with the total size of its files will be displayed. The size of a current directory files will be displayed in the separate line in the table Regular files.
