If you wish to upgrade the hardware or transfer a dedicated server to another owner you will have to reinstall the operating system.

WARNING! All the data on your dedicated server will be lost upon reinstallation of the operating system.

Make sure your dedicated server supports Boot ROM. You will need to have a pre-installed software and operating system image before starting reinstallation.

To reinstall dedicated server, click the "Reinstall" icon and fill out the following form:

  • Hostname - enter a server domain name that will assigned to the dedicated servers during the reinstallation progress.
  • Operating system - select an operating system's version you want to install to the server.
  • Password - enter a new root user password.
  • Re-type password - retype the password to ensure that it has been entered correctly.
  • Partitions table - provide partitions and their sizes (in MB). For example: */1024. Leave the field blank for automatic partitioning.
  • Install keys - select the check box to copy the file etc/authorized_key to the server to enable key authentication.

The installation process may take some time. If you use a KVM switch, you can track the whole process and avoid possible errors.
