Setup Wizard

When you first log in to the control panel, the Setup Wizard will appear allowing you to configure your time zone, update parameters, logs rotation for the web-servers, etc. You may change the root password there as well. Provide the FirstStart option in the control panel's configuration file to be able to use Setup Wizard. The option will be removed after you have the required parameters.

Click Next to proceed to the next step. Click Cancel to exit without making any changes. Click Back to go back to previous steps and make changes.

Server setup

Enter your Server name (hostname) for correct operation of the applications.

Select a time zone that will define all the dates and times displayed on your server.

Web-server action log

The web-server normally logs attempts to gain accesses to your WWW domains. You can read the statistics of your web-server views and view the visitors info based on the acting log analysis.

  • Analyzer - choose a default program for analysing your logs. You can change the analyser and disable it for any of your WWW domains in the Logs rotation module.
  • Error log - the web-server has an built-in error log that collects debugging information. Log file rotation aims to prevent log files from growing indefinitely, because logs occupy much disk space. If you do not need this information any more, you can disable the log by default.

Updates

You can configure automatic update that will search a new software version and install it, if any.

  • Update automatically - select the check box to allow automatic update of the control panel if a product version is released.

Select the desired version^

  • current - the most recent version that provides you with the latest functionality.
  • stable - version for a wide use has been tested for a long time so it is considered stable.

Select the mirror to download updates.

Note Only the control panel will be automatically updated. All other software products that are installed on the server will not be updated.

Passwords

The Setup Wizard will prompt you to change the root password.

You may change the root password for MySQL as well. The root user has nothing to do with system users, and their passwords may differ.

  • New root password - enter a new root password. Leave the field blank if you do not want to change it. The password can be randomly generated by the system. To get one, click a special button next to the field.
  • Confirmation - retype the root password for confirmation. If it was randomly generated, confirmation is set automatically.

The other root user can be used to access MySQL databases. We would recommend changing his password as well.

  • Root password for MySQL - enter a new root password for MySQL. Leave the field blank if you do not want to change it. The password can be randomly generated by the system. To get one, click a special button next to the field.
  • Confirmation - retype the root password for confirmation. If it was randomly generated, confirmation is set automatically.
  • Password change period - provide the period in days at which the control panel will ask you to change the password. Type 0 to disable the notification.
