Spam is flooding the Internet with messages to people who would not choose to receive it. Most spam is commercial advertising, quasi-legal services, social networking spam, malware, and so on. Spam email has become a bothersome problem for users, so there is a high necessity of such tools as spam filters and spam blocker features.

To protect yourself against spam, you can use software with built-in spam filtering.

Spamassassin is an open source spam filter that is used to identify spam. Once identified, the email can be marked tagged as spam, removed, etc.

To activate Spamassassin, go to the Applications module, select "Spamassassin" and click the Enable" icon :Image:p-on.png.

If you are running Sendmail or Postfix, you may set up spam filtering for both an entire server and separate mail domain, as well as mailbox. The control panel users can configure their mailboxes and mail domains themselves.

If you are running Exim, spam filtering can be only set up for a server (you need to have administrator privileges).
